Chester & Cheshire West - Online - from £35

Men's counselling
in Chester & Cheshire West

Cheshire West runs from Chester and Ellesmere Port across to Northwich, Winsford and the villages between. There is no consulting room in the area, so counselling here is online.

I work with men across Chester and Cheshire West online by secure video or phone, weekends and evenings included subject to availability, payment upfront by bank transfer locks in the meeting date and time. Most men get started within days of the free initial call.

How online counselling works in Chester and Cheshire West.

Sessions run by secure video or phone, with a link sent beforehand. The session lasts the same fifty minutes it would in a room.

Chester is small enough that people know each other, and that is the reason some men give for not wanting a local counsellor at all. Working online removes the question of who might see you.

It also removes the journey, which in a county this spread out is often the difference between booking and not.

What you need for an online session.

Somewhere private and any device with a microphone. The link arrives by email in advance and expires after the session. Headphones make more difference than a good camera.

Men counselling men.

Chester has counsellors. It has far fewer male ones, because most counsellors in this country are women. If you have no preference then none of this matters. If you would rather talk to another man, that preference is worth taking seriously rather than talking yourself out of.

What men in Chester and Cheshire West bring to counselling.

A life that looks fine from outside.

Nothing you could point to as wrong, and a persistent sense that something is.

Pressure to keep providing.

A standard of living that now depends on you staying exactly as capable as you were.

Distance in a long relationship.

Not a crisis. Years of small accumulations that nobody named at the time.

Drinking that fills a gap.

Nothing dramatic. A reliable evening habit that has stopped being a choice.

There is no counselling room in Chester, and I will not pretend there is.

The one Mettle consulting room is in Southport. Everything across Chester and Cheshire West is done remotely, and this page is here to be useful to people searching from the area rather than to suggest an office in it.

Chester has counsellors who will see you in person, and that is a perfectly good route. Say so on the free call and I will help you look rather than talk you into the wrong format.

Counselling questions men in Chester & Cheshire West ask.

Chester is a small place. How private is this really?

+

Nothing about the session happens where anyone can see it. There is no building to walk into and no appointment card. My notes carry initials rather than names, and nothing is shared without your consent except where I am legally obliged.

Do you take clients from north Wales?

+

Online has no border, so practically yes. The pages on this site cover England because that is where the work is concentrated, not because anywhere else is excluded.

What if my partner wants to come too?

+

This is one-to-one work rather than couples therapy, so no. If the relationship is the main issue, a couples counsellor is the better fit and I will say so on the call.

Do you keep a record of what I say?

+

Brief notes only, encrypted and identified by initials. They exist so the work has continuity between sessions, not as a file on you, and you can ask what is in them.

How much does the first conversation cost?

+

The 15-minute introductory call is free and there is no obligation attached to it. It exists so neither of us commits to something that is not going to work.

Take the first step. No pressure. No obligation.

Book a free 15-minute consultation.

A brief, confidential chat to look at what's going on, answer your questions, and figure out what kind of support fits you best - even if that direction isn't Mettle.
