What men bring to this work
- A relationship that’s ended, or is clearly heading that way.
- Conflict at home that keeps escalating faster than you can keep up with.
- Co-parenting strain, without it turning into a weapon against each other.
- The identity question underneath it all - who you are without the relationship, the house, the routine.
What counselling can offer here
A place to feel the loss or the conflict without it leaking into the rest of your life - work, parenting, the next relationship. Space to look at the patterns that showed up in this relationship, so they don't just repeat in the next one. And, when you're ready, help thinking through what you actually want next.
This work draws on my training in Restorative Approaches - understanding what actually happened between two people, rather than assigning a simple villain and victim - alongside standard integrative counselling.
Before you book
Questions worth asking.
Is this the same as couples counselling or mediation?+
No. This is 1:1 counselling for you as an individual - not couples work, and not formal mediation or a family-court service. If you need mediation or legal support, a family mediator or solicitor is the right next step alongside, or instead of, this.
Can I come to this if the relationship isn’t over yet?+
Yes. Plenty of men come while things are still live - to think clearly before a conversation, or to work out what they want, rather than only after everything’s already decided.
Will you take my side?+
No - there’s no side to take, because there’s no one else in the room. This is 1:1 work, not mediation, so it isn’t about building a case against your ex-partner or refereeing an argument I’ve only heard one half of. It’s entirely for you - your clarity, your decisions - which includes being honest about your own part in what happened, not only what was done to you.
What if there are children involved?+
That’s a common and important part of this work - thinking through co-parenting, and how to protect your children from conflict that isn’t theirs to carry. This is still individual counselling for you, not a family or child-contact service.
No commitment. No form.

A short conversation to see if this is the right fit for you. If it is, we book a session. If it isn’t, I’ll point you somewhere better.
