People Also Ask About Men's Therapy

Do I need to know what to talk about before I come?

No, not at all. Many men arrive with mixed thoughts or uncertainty, and that's perfectly normal. We'll explore things together at your own pace, and you don't need to have a clear agenda to start.

How long is a session?

Each counselling session lasts for a dedicated fifty minutes, providing ample time for focused discussion and exploration.

How often do we meet?

Most individuals begin with weekly sessions to establish rhythm and progress. As your situation evolves, we can adjust to fortnightly meetings if that suits your needs better.

Is counselling confidential?

Yes, confidentiality is a cornerstone of our practice. It is respected in almost all situations, with rare exceptions involving serious safety concerns. Any such situation would be discussed with you first, whenever possible.

Can I attend online?

Absolutely. For your convenience and accessibility, online sessions are available, allowing you to access support from anywhere across the UK.

Do I need to know which service I need?

Not at all. If you're unsure, we can start with an initial consultation where you can openly discuss your concerns, and we'll explore what feels most relevant together.

What if more than one issue is affecting me?

This is very common. Counselling provides a flexible space where you can explore multiple areas and concerns simultaneously, allowing for holistic support tailored to you.

Is Single-Session Therapy really enough?

For some people, yes. Research into Single-Session Therapy shows that many clients attend only one therapy session and later report that the conversation helped them gain clarity or move forward with a specific decision. Others may choose to return for additional sessions if they wish to explore something further.

What problems can Single-Session Therapy help with?

A single therapy session can be helpful for many situations, including: work stress relationship decisions anxiety or overthinking feeling stuck in life adjusting to change needing clarity about next steps Some people attend with a specific problem, while others arrive simply knowing that something in their life needs attention.

Can I book more than one session?

Yes. Single-Session Therapy does not prevent access to further sessions. Some clients attend once and leave with the clarity they needed. Others return later if they wish to explore something new or continue the work. Each session is treated as a complete and valuable conversation in its own right.
